BODY
Liposuction
Despite exercise and a healthy diet, unwanted fat deposits can build up in certain areas of your body, most commonly on your tummy, buttocks, hips, and thighs. Liposuction can help remove these stubborn areas of fat and give you a smoother, more sculpted body shape.
A thin tube (cannula) is inserted through tiny cuts in your skin to break up the fat and permanently remove it from your body. Liposuction is usually done under general anaesthetic and you can go home the same day. You will need to wear a compression garment after your operation to reduce swelling.
It is important to remember that liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss; you must be at or near your ideal weight prior to your operation to get the best results.
Liposuction can be carried out alone but is commonly combined with other operations, such as tummy tuck, arm and thigh lifts, and gynaecomastia removal.
